Baby massage

Benefits of baby massage

The courses teach you world-renowned International Association of Infant Massage (I.A.I.M) techniques, and can really help you to strengthen your bond with your child.

  • Interaction – this promotes bonding, allows one to one quality time, develops pre-language and non-verbal communication skills. All in a safe, loving and comfortable environment.
  • Whole Body Stimulation – includes all the body’s main internal systems i.e. circulatory, digestive, hormone, immune lymphatic, respiratory and vestibular system. The focussed, gentle and rhythmical strokes also help with muscular growth, development and tone, whilst improving sensory integration and language development.
  • Muscular Tension and Pain Relief – baby massage has been shown to aid in the relief of gas/colic, digestive pains, growing pains, muscular tension/cramps, teething and touch sensitivity.
  • Relaxation Techniques – these improve both sleep patterns and the quality of your baby’s sleep. They can also reduce stress whilst regulating behavioural states.
  • Baby Massage also helps to stimulate the production of oxytocin. This non gender specific hormone is regularly produced during massage and is one of the body’s natural pain and stress relievers.
